CAMP 807 2001
The 22nd Annual Northwestern Ontario Hamfest
is being sponsored by the Rainy Lake Amateur Radio Club

R.L.A.R.C. will be the host for CAMP 807 2001, and they would like to extend an invitation to all Amateur Radio operators, their families, and other interested persons to participate in this annual family event. Final preparations are still being made at this time, but it's shaping up to be a great weekend. The Camp 807 committee hopes that you can include our region's annual Ham Radio gathering in your summer plans.

CAMP 807 2001 will take place the weekend of August 3rd, 4th and 5th at the Holiday Village Trailer Park and Campground.

Friday August 3rd will be for registration and socializing at the club's emergency communications van at the campground. The VE3RLC repeater on 146.820 MHz (-600) will be used for the talk-in frequency. Club members will be monitoring the repeater from the van in order to provide directions and assistance to those travelling to the event. The club station will be operating under the callsign VE3FHS.

Saturday's supper will be barbecue steaks (supplied with baked potato and bun), and pot luck salads and desserts (supplied by volunteers). The cost will be $8 per person, payable at registration time. Please bring your own plate and utensils. Those wishing to register for the supper but not purchase a steak may do so for $4.

Grand Prize

RLARC will be holding a raffle for one Radio Shack HTX-242 2-metre mobile radio at a price of $5 per ticket. Second prize will be a 2-Metre amplifier (0.5 watts in, 30 watts out), and third prize will be a 5/8 wave mobile antenna. The draw will be made on Sunday after breakfast. You do not have to be in attendance to win the prize.

Tickets for this draw, Saturday night's barbecue and Sunday's continental breakfast will be available all weekend at the RLARC communications van.
